Early Roots & Musical Lineage
Born on 16 June 1990/1991 in Mumbai, Amaal Mallik is the elder son of composer Daboo Malik and Jyothi Malik—continuing a legacy that includes his grandfather Sardar Malik and uncle Anu Malik, both esteemed music directors . He attended Jamnabai Narsee School and graduated in Commerce from N. M. College.
From the tender age of eight, Amaal began formal training in Western classical music at the Trinity College of Music in London, while also soaking in Indian classical traditions under his grandfather’s guidance.

Amaal’s journey in music began early, assisting in background scoring during his teens for films like Sarkar and Shootout at Lokhandwala. His debut as a solo composer arrived in 2014 with three songs for Salman Khan’s Jai Ho, followed promptly by Naina from Khoobsurat.
Since then, Amaal has crafted numerous chart-toppers: Sooraj Dooba Hain (Roy), Aashiq Surrender Hua (Badrinath Ki Dulhania), Kabir Singh, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3—solidifying his mark in Bollywood. His music earned him several awards including Filmfare Best Music Director (2020).
He also took to television, serving as a judge on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs and hosting Ravivaar With Star Parivaar.

Personal Struggles Behind the Crescendo
